You know the drill.
Now get ready to design the rest.
Designing Your Ideal Dental Career covers what dental school only touches on: personal finances, career pathways, and the important conversations that get put on pause. Built by a dentist who's already worked through these decisions and wants to guide you toward a career, and a life, you're genuinely excited about.

- Negotiating your worth
- Building personal wealth
- Exploring different career paths
- Navigating office politics
- Communicating with patients
- Finding your people
The essentials that get a lunch-and-learn, not a dedicated class.
Dental school touches on this, just not with the same weight as clinical training. A slide in a lecture, maybe a guest speaker, never a full semester. So new dentists end up figuring it out alone, usually the hard way.
Negotiating your worth
Signing your first associate agreement without knowing what a red flag even looks like.
Building personal wealth
Six figures of student debt, a new income, and no framework for either.
Exploring different career paths
Private practice, DSO, FQHC, military, academia, health tech, consulting, or being a founder yourself. Real talk about the trade-offs, and how it's possible to pursue more than one.
Navigating office politics
What to do when an owner or office manager overrides the treatment plan you were trained to make.
Communicating with patients
Presenting treatment and handling financial objections when the chair goes quiet.
Finding your people
A real network and mentors, beyond the classmates you graduated with.
DDS, FACD
- Tenure-track dental educator
- Former lead dentist at an FQHC
- Private practice associate
- Nationally recognized speaker on dental education
I am a first-generation dentist. Nobody handed me a roadmap.
On graduation day, I walked across the stage excited for the future, yet uncertain of where this path would lead. In the three years since, I worked as the solo lead dentist at an FQHC, practiced in four private offices, directed courses at my alma mater, and presented nationally on dental education. None of it followed a clear plan. I trusted my instincts, stepped through doors as they opened, learned which environments supported my growth, and kept choosing to define my career on my own terms.
Designing Your Ideal Dental Career grew out of that journey. It combines my trial and error with the honest conversations I have with students and recent graduates every week. After all of your hard work and years of dedicated schooling, your goal should reach far beyond taking an associate position to pay off loans. You poured years into getting here. Let us build the rewarding career and life you deserve, without the frustration and doubt of figuring it out alone.
